Monitor policy, political economy and sector developments across Central Asia and turn multilingual evidence into clear research outputs.

Key responsibilities

  • Track official policy, diplomatic developments, regional institutions and material country-level changes
  • Prepare country briefs, policy notes, background research and contributions to longer reports
  • Organise and cross-check public records, industry information and research sources
  • Support client assignments, expert briefings and Chinese-English research materials

What we look for

  • Relevant training in international relations, area studies, economics, public policy, energy or a related field
  • Strong analytical writing and source-verification skills in Chinese and English
  • Russian or a Central Asian language is an advantage
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in Central Asia and an ability to handle deadlines and sensitive material responsibly

Cross-border Investment & Project Advisory Associate

Advisory and project research

Support investment-risk, sector and project research for institutions evaluating opportunities and operating conditions in Central Asia.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with market-entry, regulatory, industry and counterparty research within the agreed project scope
  • Analyse investment conditions across energy, minerals, infrastructure, logistics, trade and priority industries
  • Prepare interview guides, due-diligence workpapers, risk summaries and client-ready presentations
  • Coordinate research inputs and support project communication across different professional and cultural contexts

What we look for

  • Relevant background in business, economics, finance, law, public policy, industry research or consulting
  • Structured problem-solving, careful documentation and concise professional writing
  • Chinese and English working proficiency; Russian or regional-language capability is an advantage
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and undertake regional research or project travel when required
